snowboard shops on long island

Mid-Season Report:

The snowboard season is in full swing – are you ready for another day on the hill? The weather has been a complete rollercoaster ride but don’t worry… February has historically delivered. February is the snowiest month for the northeast. Before you decide to take a trip up north, make sure you are well prepared. We have the largest selection of snowboard gear on the Island.  We will also price match and beat anything advertised on the internet!  Below, we‘ve listed all the brands we carry. Feel free to call us anytime with any questions or to check our inventory.

If you’re looking for a quick day trip, Mountain Creek in New Jersey is the fastest way to scratch the itch. It’s about a two to two and a half hour drive from central Long Island. Pennsylvania is another quick option; two notable mountains are Big Boulder/ Jack Frost and Blue Mountain. Big Boulder for parks and Blue for a well-rounded mountain that seems to never be too crowded – they’ve also recently refurbished their upper lodge, so be sure to check it out if you go.

If you are looking for somewhere a little more challenging but still relatively close, look no further than right here in New York’s Catskill Mountains! Windham Mountain is one of our favorite options. It’s never too crowded, family friendly, has diverse terrain and their park crew has been doing a great job. The parks are spread across the mountain for people of all skill levels.

Not much further of a ride than Windham is one of our all-time favorite resorts on the east coast – Mount Snow. Only about four and a half hours from central Long Island, Mount Snow is Vermont’s most southern mountain to ride. Carinthia is probably one of the most renowned terrain parks in the world. Other notable mountains further up north include Stowe Mountain and Smugglers’ Notch.  If you are really feeling adventurous, check out Jay Peak! Hands down one of the best mountains on the east coast; it’s the closest thing to going out west. They get the most snow and they have a TON of glades that are actually named trails. Be sure to get a ramen bowl at the bottom of the hill in the old tram cart.  They also have an indoor water park, indoor climbing facility and ice skating – and all are available at very affordable prices.

Need a tune up? Stop by the shop! We offer $35 full tunes, which include a base grind, hot iron wax and hand sharpening.  What sets us apart is that we don’t roll pre melted wax onto your board; instead, we infuse the wax into the base of your board with a hot iron. We also will hand tune your edges to whatever bevel degree you’d like or if you aren’t sure we will tune it to the conditions and type of riding that you enjoy.

Riding man-made snow, dirty spring snow, or super frigid temps? Ask to add graphite to your wax with NO up charge. Our technicians will also p-tex’d fill any core shots FREE OF CHARGE!!! Mention to a sales associate when dropping off your tune if you would like something p-tex’d.
